Wild Grapes designers and engineers are passionate about creating cellars which are visually ‘interesting’, as well as versatile and practical. With wine cellar racks available in a variety of styles, (Serpentine, Harlequin, Runner Racks and case storage), Tower Systems can be constructed and used as single units or as part of a seamless wall of racking for larger wine collections.

Finished as standard in a resilient black powder-coating, we have noticed a growing trend towards leaving the metal racks in the raw, unfinished state. This allows the steel to rust slowly and naturally over time, and creates for a more authentic and aged appearance within a short period, which can be extremely attractive in the right environment.

Protecting Your Wines

Wild Grapes’ cellar wine racks or ‘Tower Systems’, are handcrafted in our workshops in West Sussex; constructed in high-quality engineering steel, they have been thoughtfully designed to optimize the life of your wines and ensure their complete security.

Contrary to the modular wine racks widely available on the high street and in DIY stores, Wild Grapes’ metal wine racks (wrought iron wine racks) are fully-welded, non collapsible structures and are capable of withstanding several tons of load. In situ, the units are braced to each other as well as the walls against which they stand, rendering both them and their contents virtually impossible to unbalance.

Runner racks are particularly expedient in commercial wine cellars where fast access is required to a wide variety of bottles and bottle-types. Wine bins can also be coated in a range of colours to differentiate wine brands and facilitate rapid identification when an order comes in.

It’s also worth mentioning that the wire supports of Runner Wine Racks will not cause tearing to your bottles’ labels (a constant hazard of modular wine racks) which typically reduces the value of a bottle’s contents by around 10%.

Wild Grapes’ intelligent design process provides our clients with almost limitless possibilities in terms of how they use the space within their wine cellar or wine room. Both immensely strong and elegantly proportioned, our stunning metal wine racks have the great advantage of being space efficient, whilst retaining and enhancing the visual impact of the cellar’s natural contours.

Tower Systems are typically built 630mm (wide) x 2200mm (high) x 290mm (deep), but can be modified either partially or fully where more bespoke solutions are required or requested. Needless-to-say, since the walls and floors of many wine cellars / wine rooms are rarely of a regular shape & size, wine racks can be constructed to take account of obstructions of all types: curved walls, low-lying vaulted ceilings, uneven floors and of course a wide variety of bottle and case types.
